Last night I was trying to settle down and get to bed early and unfortunately checked my Twitter feed which is never a good idea. I kept seeing pictures tweeted of Donald Trump at various stages in his life posing in a bathrobe. A WTF moment and one I felt compelled to understand.
Long story short, the New York Times did a piece on the bumbling of the Trump administration in which it claimed that after a long hard day, Trump retreats to his private residence in the White House where he tweets in his bathrobe while watching TV, or something like that. In response, Sean Spicer, White House Press Secretary, hit back at the Times expressing that the story had "blatant factual errors" while claiming the President doesn't wear a bathrobe and doesn't even own one.
This prompted those in the media to jump on Google and type Donald Trump and bathrobe, tweeting their finds with glee. Yes Donald Trump has worn a bathrobe and chances are good he still owns one.
Brilliant journalism! The best thing that has come from #Bathrobegate is a new Twitter account to parody the ridiculousness of it all.Sean Spicer: "I don't think the president owns a bathrobe." (via @justinsink— Jennifer Bendery (@jbendery) February 6, 2017
